Case Study: Data Cleansing to Facilitate Innovation
CalPERS, the $240 billion public pension fund, sought to consolidate multiple legacy systems into a centralized corporate database. Because the legacy systems had previously been maintained independently, numerous inconsistencies in the data existed across the databases. CalPERS required a vendor with clockwork management processes and a stellar data security reputation to execute this massive data cleansing effort.
CalPERS fully outsourced the end-to-end management of the 2-year data cleansing project to SoftSol. SoftSol assembled a team of 70 Data Analysts comprising IT Engineers, Domain specialists in Pension Funds, Human Resources and Health Care to work onsite at CalPERS’ Sacramento location (Client regulations required that the project be executed fully onsite due to the sensitive nature of the data).
Through standard PMI processes, extensive quality controls, and a seasoned management team, SoftSol is able to ensure timely execution and maximum accuracy in the mission-critical effort. SoftSol is on track for completion per schedule.
